Renewable capacity statistics 2026

IRENA’s “Renewable Capacity Statistics 2026” highlights continued strong growth in global renewable energy. In 2025, renewable power capacity reached a record 5,149 GW, with an annual increase of 692 GW (+15.5%). Solar energy led this expansion, accounting for the majority of new capacity, followed by wind power. Renewables represented around 85% of all new power capacity additions, reinforcing their central role in the global energy transition, although further acceleration is still needed to meet 2030 targets.

O Governo declarou de “imprescindível utilidade pública” a implementação de novas infraestruturas associadas à produção de hidrogénio renovável, amoníaco renovável e energia solar na Zona Industrial e Logística de Sines (ZILS), segundo um despacho publicado esta sexta-feira em Diário da República.

Consulta Pública sobre a Governação da União da Energia e da Ação Climática

A Comissão Europeia lançou uma consulta pública no âmbito da próxima revisão do Regulamento (UE) 2018/1999 do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho, relativo à Governação da União da Energia e da Ação Climática, instrumento que assegura o cumprimento dos objetivos e metas da União da Energia em alinhamento com o Acordo de Paris sobre alterações climáticas.
