Nation's first green hydrogen 'energy station' expected 2022

Catalyzed by a Cornell University grant and Cornell sustainability research over the past decade, energy storage company Standard Hydrogen Corporation (SHC) and National Grid announced plans March 11 to build the first hydrogen "energy station" of its kind in the nation.

Solaris starts deliveries of Urbino hydrogen buses to Cologne

In March 2020, in a tender launched by German operator Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK), Solaris Bus & Coach was selected to supply 15 state-of-the-art Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses. The first of the hydrogen vehicles has already been delivered and is being tested in the RVK branch in Wermelskirchen in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis district. The remaining 14 hydrogen buses will make their way to Germany by the end of the year.

Stocker de l’hydrogène nécessite de robustes et volumineux réservoirs. Ces bouteilles doivent être sûres : la molécule s’échappe facilement, est extrêmement inflammable et plus explosive que le gaz naturel. Comment l’accumuler massivement pour répondre à la transition énergétique tout en répondant à ces impératifs ? La solution pourrait être de le stocker dans les sous-sols. Une filiale d’Engie va l’expérimenter en France.
