Inergio prototype to pave way for mini hydrogen fuel cells
Inergio, a start-up created by Swiss company EPFL, has unveiled a prototype for a lightweight, eco-friendly, high-performance fuel cell that could, in the future, lead to miniature hydrogen fuel cells.
Despite the fuel cell’s size, which measures 25cm long by 14cm high and wide, Inergio says it can successfully supply 25W when there is no access to a power grid and hydrogen.

Don't believe hydrogen and nuclear hype – they can’t get us to net zero carbon by 2050
Now that the whole world seems to be aligned behind the goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, the nuclear industry is straining every sinew to present itself as an invaluable ally in the ambitious aim. Energy experts remain starkly divided on whether or not we can reach this global net zero target without nuclear power, but regardless, it remains a hard sell for pro-nuclear enthusiasts.

Fossil hydrogen is coming – time to learn what it will look like
As I mused earlier this year, hydrogen is something of an entirely novel challenge for the climate and energy community. It is literally transformational. It can be produced from the worst, most carbon intensive fossil fuels, or it can be produced from the cheapest, cleanest sources, with everything in between. The end product is identical – a couple of hydrogen molecules squished together, which can be cleanly burned to power things.

LAVO’s World-First Home Hydrogen Battery Powers A Home For 2 Days
The System measures around 1.68 m high by 1.20 m wide (66 x 47 inches) and weighs as much as 324 kg (714 lbs), making it highly unlikely to be stolen by a thief. The hydrogen is stowed in a patented metal hydride ‘sponge’ at 435 psi or 0 bar pressure.
LAVO’s hydrogen hybrid battery delivers a continuous output of 5 kW and stores more than 40kWh of electricity. That’s three times as much as Tesla’s house battery Powerwall 2 (which stores 13.5 kWh) and enough power to run an average home for two days on a single charge!
