HyPoint's next-level turbo fuel cell passes prototype testing
While this has been a very quiet year for airlines, about 2.5 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions generally come from the aviation sector, somewhere approaching a billion tons of CO2 per year. With air miles set to triple by 2050, this sector is a key target for decarbonization. Batteries are unlikely to displace fossil fuels in the powertrain; they can't carry enough energy per kilogram to deliver a commercially useful aircraft.

Hydrogen and the Energy Transition
Power systems around the world are changing. Renewable energy, mainly in the form of wind and solar generation, is being added everywhere, while more traditional forms of power, such as coal-fired and nuclear generation, are being retired from the grid. Meanwhile, natural gas-fired generation has taken the lead role in facilitating the transition by providing relatively quick ramping capability and stable baseload power to backup intermittent renewables.

Saudi Arabia plans to export green hydrogen to Europe by pipeline
Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest exporter of crude, plans to sell green hydrogen produced in the kingdom to Europe, its energy minister said.
The kingdom intends to pipe the clean fuel to Europe "if the economics allow for it", Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman told the Riyadh-based International Energy Forum during an online conference.
Saudi Arabia harbours ambitions to be an exporter of hydrogen as it adjusts to the global energy industry's shift to cleaner fuel sources.
